
Henry was born at Aldridge, Staffs. in 1833, he was a solicitor and clerk to the justices and he died at Great Alne, Warwickshire in 1905. He was a son of Edward Jackson - a schoolmaster - and Anne Shutt. In the 1851 Census Henry, aged 17, was living at home with his parents at the Manor House, Aldridge and was an articled clerk to a solicitor. By 1901 Henry and his eldest son Henry Swinton were living at Great Alne and the rest of his family stayed at Shifnal in a house called 'Inglewood'.
In a book entitled Great Alne a History Henry Jackson's 'beautiful handwriting' is mentioned in connection with his work as Honorary Secretary of Great Alne festivities in 1902 to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII.
