John Cox Morris married Catherine Bridget Gilpin at Cannock on 9 April 1810 and they had two children: Edmund Skinner Morris and Jane Moris. The portrait of William Gilpin reproduced on this website was published in a Cannock local newspaper in an article Around the Chase in September 1959 and it stated that the portrait was now in the possession of a descendant, Mrs F Morris of Hatton Road, Wednesfield.
We assume that Mrs Morris is a direct descendant of John and Catherine Morris and we would very much like to make contact with her or a member of her family.
